The hemp oil is legal in the United States after the Senate legalized all hemp-derived products in 2018. Since then, there is a huge demand for hemp oil. This is mainly because of the high nutrient profile of the hemp oil. Most often people use the terms CBD oil and hemp oil interchangeably as if both are the same things. There is a significant difference between hemp oil and CBD oil. The main difference is in the source of both hemp and CBD oil.

How Is Hemp Oil Extracted?

Hemp oil is derived from the seeds of the hemp plant. The first process in the extraction is cleaning the hemp seeds. The seed should be about 99 % clean before it undergoes cold-pressing. The cleaning of the seeds involves the removal of dirt, leaf matter, and other contamination from the crops. The removal of the leaf matter is essential because the seed contains no THC and the leaf contains a trace amount of THC. If the leaf matter is not properly removed, the THC could end up in the final product. Therefore, it is essential to make sure that the leaf is fully removed.

The next step in the extraction process is the cold-pressing of the hemp seeds. All the seeds are first loaded into the hoppers, which is then emptied into a series of cold expeller press heads. These expeller press heads extrude the hemp seed into long chunks and separate the oil. This process creates friction which in turn becomes heat. The oil is exposed to this heat and when it enters the holding reservoir, it undergoes a cooling process and the temperature will be lowered to 200C. After that, the oil undergoes a filtration process for removing any suspended solids. The oil will be flushed with nitrogen gas during the entire process for removing and displacing any oxygen that might resent.

Benefits Of Hemp Oil

Since the hemp oil contains most of the cannabinoids and other essential compounds of the plant, it is very beneficial in treating many health disorders that affect humans. The fatty acids present in the hemp oil are helpful in the smooth functioning of the brain and the active cannabinoids will protect the brain from inflammation.

Hemp oil also has various skincare benefits. Many people are now using hemp oil for preventing the formation of acne on your skin. The anti-inflammatory properties will reduce the inflammation and the cannabinoids control the oil production in the skin to prevent acne formation.
